From 1960 to 1966, he studied music education and composition at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik &#8220;Carl Maria von Weber&#8221; in Dresden. His composition teachers include Johannes Paul Thilman, Manfred Weiss, G\u00fcnter H\u00f6rig and Conny Odd. He studied piano under Theo Other and Wolfgang Plehn. From 1970 to 2007 he teached at Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik &#8220;Carl Maria von Weber&#8221; in Dresden. There he was 1987 also appointed to university lecturer and Professor of Composition in 1992. As a very profilic composer, Lischka has written a large number of compositions for children&#8217;s choir (&#8220;Die Stimmen der Tiere&#8221;) and young musicians, various chamber ensembles and for organ. &#8220;Akzente&#8221;, Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra and &#8220;Konzert in zwei S\u00e4tzen f\u00fcr Trompete, Violine, Viola und Orchester&#8221; are three of his many works premiered by the S\u00e4chsische Staatskapelle Dresden and the Dresdner Philharmonie. Lischka has been the recipient of many awards, including first prizes at international radio composition competitions for children&#8217;s song in Budapest, Berlin and Warsaw, and the &#8220;Martin-Andersen-Nex\u00f6-Kunstpreis der Stadt Dresden&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>His orchestral work &#8220;Alles im Fluss&#8221; was premiered at the New Year&#8217;s Eve concert 2017 of the Dresden Philharmonic with great success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rainer Lischka was born on April 25, 1942 in Zittau, Germany.
